Cast Stone window sills for outside Cast stone window sills are used for the external of buildings to enhance the appearance we carry a number of stock sizes as well as have the capability of producing bespoke sizes to order. They are available as Stooled in either standard 150mm on bedwidth and 180mm for rendered walls as well as slip sills in both widths. The definition of a Stooled window sill is that it will have generally a 100mm overhang either side of the casement opening that fits into the brick work and a slip cill does not have the noggins and normally only stretch to the frame opening. Considering stone for the front of your home we can do many different attractive add ons such as heads , quoins and coping stones We always recommend that any window opening over the 1200mm is made in 2 parts unto 2400mm long.and above that in multiples of 1200. Available in different colours such as buff, portland grey, Forrest green and york stone.
These can be delivered throughout the UK at very reasonable delivery charges

Can Slate Can be used as an alternative to wood Window Cills
Brazilian Black slate Window cills can be used instead of wood for Windows both for internal and external uses. There are many advantages in using slate and you may find out its not as expensive as you think. as we cut a lot of Hearth and coping stones from Premium Brazilian slate we do have a lot of good length pieces left over that convert ideally to sills and if we have the sizes you may require we can discount them.
One major benefit of slate over wood is that you will never have to worry about them rotting and there is no need to paint them on a regular but our view is they also look far better. Available with a smooth riven surface or a honed polished top. we can also cut ones with horns or toggles on with 3 different edge finishes such as 1/2 bullnosed, bevel or clean sawn.

The size of the fireplace stone was quite a large on and measured 1500 x 1200 before we cut it into a single T shape which is most probably one of our biggest selling products that we are asked to supply. The brick slips are lining there existing chimney breast and are made in our Newcastle Production unit they are very easy to use and are non combustable so are great for use with log burning stoves. We carry a large range of Standard stock sizes as well as offering a bespoke made to size option, Our Cast stone is made from crushed quarried stone which allows us to get us a quality looking product at a faction of the cost of Real ones that a mason may produce. Prices are very Competitive if you would like a quote then please feel free to contact us What is best Real stone or Manufactured cast stone claddingWe are often asked what is the difference between natural stone cladding and manufactured veneers. There is no true answer but generally real random stone cut to a 20mm or 30mm thickness will cost a lot more money in most cases this will be 2 or 3 times the cost of cast stone. This is because it is very time consuming and costly to cut random walling into a veneer. Whilst manmade reconstituted stone is generally made in moulds which can be used again and again and many companies who produce it will have developed systems that they can turn around a set around in a 24 hour period. we have a range of real and cast products that are suitable for covering walls internally or externally and are non combustable so are great for the self builder who wants to create a fireplace for a log burner.
