Our range of Black slate riven hearths come direct from Brazil, allowing us to keep our prices as competitive as possible. These slate slabs are calibrated by machine on the underside to give a consistent 20mm thickness across the complete slab , making them easier to lay by anyone. Brazilian slate cuts very clean, meaning that the riven surface of the tiles has a low cleft and very flat surface for sitting log burners onto.
