Dimensions Required when ordering a T Piece Shape slate Hearth Stone 

T piece slate Hearths are very easy to measure with our short video its explains that with only 8 measurements that we would require in centimetres and millimetres we will have enough information to enable us to give an accurate quote for you all you need to decide is the thickness that you may want the slab in we have the option of 20mm or 30mm. We can cut these generally up to a maximum slate size of 1500mm x 1200mm.
The slate we use is Top Quality Brazilian black slate which has a very smooth natural riven surface which has been sawn on the back to give a standard thickness across the stone ,

Are one Piece T Shaped Slate hearths suitable for all fireplaces 

If you are using the hearth on a solid fuel fire ( without doors i.e. basket grates / Cast iron insert fireplaces  ) it is worth thinking about have the slate in 2 pieces it is not against any regulations but allows a expansion joint to prevent the slate from cracking. 
For enclosed fires such as wood Burners , multi fuel stoves gas and electric there is no need to cut the slate into 2 individual sections. .
