What edges can you have on a slate hearth stone

The overall finish on the edges of our made to measure slate fire hearth can be done in 3 different types :-
  • Sawn
  • Half Bull Nosed
  • 5mm Bevelled edge

The above  finished edges can be cut on to  any slate slabs that we sell  all we need are the dimensions of the fireplace and we can do the rest for you with our expert team of stone masons.

Sawn edge and bevelled edge finishes are generally used in creating a modern looking fire hearth whilst the half bullnose can be used to make a older cottage looking one

Sawn Edge

The sawn edge on a hearth is the standard finish that has been available for many years and is still very popular today especially when setting into the floor and meeting laminate wood flooring or tiles.
