These slate slabs are calibrated by machine on the underside to give a consistent 30mm thickness across the complete slab , making them easier to lay by anyone. Brazilian slate cuts very clean, meaning that the riven surface of the tiles has a low cleft and very flat surface for sitting log burners onto.
