Why use a tear drop hearth for the corner of a room 

We are open asked why a tear drop slate hearth is used as you can see from the picture below this customer has installed a circular one which leaves a gap all around the edges next to skating board which makes it very difficult to keep clean and hoover a well as not looking finished in our mind
