Why use a T Shape Hearth stone

Can slate be Cut to a T shape for Hearth 

A  single Shape T piece hearth is cut from one big slab of slate,or stone or Granite  by cutting 2 rectangles our of the left and right corners to distances that the inner chimney place is you will end up with the desired general shape. These can be cut by yourself  with a 9 inch angle grinder but can be a difficult and expensive route if something goes wrong and you cut incorrectly or want clean tidy looking edges .  We specialise in cutting slate hearths  and have our own workshop equipped with a 3.5 metre long saw and 2.5 metre one which gives consistent clean cuts every time and supply both commercial Trade customers and Private households and think that you may be surprised at the costs involved  in a good way. 

we generally have requests for single piece hearths that customers will be fitting a wood burner stove onto but we can also cut them in 2 individual pieces one that fits into the chimney itself and the other that comes into your living space. There are some disadvantages to this option as slate is a natural product it can be very difficult to match 2 pieces within the same colour spectrum.
